What is PAYLAX?

PAYLAX is an escrow service for online buying, selling and renting. We hold the buyer's money in an insolvency-protected escrow account until both parties confirm the goods, service or rental item is in order.

What if the seller doesn't deliver?

If the seller fails to deliver or the goods don't match the description, the buyer can open a dispute through their PAYLAX account. Our team reviews the evidence within one business day and refunds the buyer if appropriate.

What if the buyer doesn't release the money?

The seller is not exposed to that risk. If the buyer never confirms receipt and doesn't open a dispute either, PAYLAX can release the funds automatically after a configurable cooling-off period.

How does it work for rentals?

Rentals work like a deal with two amounts: the rental fee and a refundable security deposit. The buyer pays both into escrow. The deposit is returned — in part or in full — once the rental item is returned and inspected.

What payment methods do you accept?

PAYLAX accepts SEPA bank transfers. We don't accept cards, vouchers, or cryptocurrency. If anyone asks for a different payment method on a "PAYLAX" deal, it isn't us.

Is my money safe?

Yes. Buyer funds are held in an insolvency-protected escrow account at a regulated banking partner — never commingled with pay & relax GmbH operating capital.

How much does it cost?

One fee taken on release of funds. Buyers never pay PAYLAX directly. See the pricing page for details.
